FAQ

You do not need to qualify to participate. Simply sign up here to let us know you’ll be competing. If you have questions about participating, please call our Athlete Hotline: (206) 681-9378.
Not at all. While it is more fun to train with a team and a coach – even if teams can’t be together in person – you can sign up on your own. If you'd like to request a virtual Unified partner or a virtual coach, you can do so when you sign up.
Since the Virtual Winter Games are not like our traditional regional or state competitions, we will not be awarding medals. Each participant will receive a certificate of completion.
Check the Fitness Heptathlon and Winter Wellness Cup sections for information on necessary equipment. For e-gaming, athletes and Unified partners will need to provide their own gaming console as well as have Internet access.
We strongly encourage you to get the consent of your doctor before participating in any Special Olympics activity however, we will not be requiring a current medical form for the Virtual Winter Games. A medical form will still be required for in-person participation.
Complete an incident report form and send it to your coach, Area Director, or Special Olympics Washington staff for submission.
In-person practices are currently suspended. See the Return to Activities Timeline to learn about Special Olympics Washington's guidelines for returning to in-person participation.
Special Olympics athletes and Unified partners from around the country and around the world are invited to join us for the Fitness Heptathlon and Winter Wellness Cup. The e-gaming competition is only open to athletes in Washington.
Only athletes within Washington State will be able to request a virtual coach and/or Unified partner.
Starting the week of January 18, we are hosting weekly “office hours” for each of these events where you can drop in and get answers to your questions. Please see our Events Calendar for dates, times and Zoom login information.
